The First Report Card

Last week Colby finished his Spanish class held at a church in Lee. It was a successful introduction to the classroom environment, instruction and being on his own. After some initial hesitation, he was eager to participate and was usually the last one to leave the class. His curiosity helped motivate him, as did the fantastic demeanor of his teacher Lucia. While Colby seemed interested while in class, he rarely wanted to discuss what he learned afterwards. He refused to let us read him the Spanish books we got him, and wanted nothing to do with his homework. However, it was clear he had learned a lot of Spanish through the glimpses he did offer. Overall, this was a successful first class!
