Colby went for his 2-year check up last Monday. Dr. Salvatore confirmed what we already know...Colby is amazing! He said he always expects 2 year check-ups to be a challenge as this age group is typically less than cooperative. But not our Colby! He impressed Dr. Salvatore with how compliant he was. The little guy even giggled after his one immunization.
For the record books...Colby measured 36 inches tall (Dad had to go get two rolls of quarters to get us caught up on his growth-o-meter!) putting him in the 90th percentile for height. He weighed 29.97 pounds which landed him in the 75th percentile for weight. Colby is in the 50th percentile for length to weight, which I assume means that he is average weight for those 2 year olds that are 36 inches tall. And the one we've all been waiting for....Colby's head circumference measured 20.6 inches which means he is at the 99.46th percentile for his age BUT, it shows almost no growth from his last check-up and gets him closer to the 95th percentile.
More noteworthy news. Although Colby has begun to fairly consistently fall asleep on his own in the crib for naps, he has resisted doing the same for bed time. However, he fell asleep by himself in his crib last night! This is a miracle we could not possibly have appreciated before we had a kid. Hopefully its a start of a trend (although I suspect it will be a slow moving trend) towards better sleep habits. He has gotten much better sleep-wise, and we are grateful for that progress.
