We're riding the monorail from the parking lot to the Magic Kingdom.
We arrived early at the Magic Kingdom to see the official park opening ceremony. While we waited they handed out metallic confetti in the shape of Mickey's head. In this photo I'm telling Colby to "hold on tight" to the confetti so he wouldn't lose it. I did not realize then that he would not let go for an hour.
Here Colby is watching a few dozen people and characters come out to announce the park opening. He had no reaction to anything until Mickey showed up and he yelled "Mick" and pointed him out to us.
We had a breakfast at the Crystal Palace where Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore and Piglet came by to say hi. Colby was quite excited to see them about and approach him, but got shy when they arrived at our table... except for Pooh who he was comfortable with. A few of them got "nose kisses" that he's now fond of giving.
First ride of the day was the carousel, which aroused no real reaction. Afterwards he surprised us with his enthusiasm for Dumbo and could be heard throughout the day saying "Dubno!" He also saw "Its a Small World", "Peter Pan" and "Buzz Lightyear" for the first time.
As shown in the previous post, Colby really enjoyed his first run at the car ride. There was a minimum height requirement ("8 oil cans") and Colby passed it! He got to drive with help from his Dad with the gas. I'm not sure he could see forward, and his driving was pretty violent - but he loved it!
Later at Epcot Colby and Mom's faces got put on the big globe in the golf ball.
Later in the night we enjoyed some time at the model train set. That spot in particular was nice as we had enjoyed it in the past and saw how much little kids liked it. So it was really cool to see our little Colby track the trains through the trees, under the tunnels and over the bridges.
