Colby Eats Pooh

Here are some more photos from our first Colby vacation.

Swimming with Colby in the "quiet" pool. I thought it was funny Moira wanted to use the quiet pool because we've been to this hotel several times now since 2003 and frequently hung out at this pool because there were no kids. Now we have a kid and we bring him there... but he's the best kid ever!

This is Colby in line for his first Disney ride ever - this was "The Land" at Epcot where you sorta float by a bunch of plants. Its cooler than it sounds, and there weren't many options when you're only 25" tall. The Red Sox hat is on backwards because its just easier that way.

Colby (or Dad?) is posing as he gets on the boat for his first ride.

Next Colby and Dad rode on the Nemo ride, where Colby sorta got to see some TV and some real dolphins, manatees and other fish.

Later in the day we took the monorail from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom. Colby fell asleep along the was and appears to still be asleep here. Two minor points here - 1) Despite this shot, we were very good about using sun block and hats and shade for Colby. 2) There is a button on his canopy that says "1st Visit" or something like that. There's a little bit more to that story. Dad decided he would try to find a cheaper way into Disney and bought tickets on Craiglist. He was careful to be sure to get a guarantee that they would work, and Mom even thought about which park we should go to first in case they didn't work. Well, they didn't work, Mom was right to pick Epcot first where the ticket booths are right there, and so we bought non-expiring tickets for several days - and that is when Colby got this button.

Here Colby is being ridiculously cute on his first and only Magic Kingdom ride - the "Blue Line". This really isn't a ride at all - its a people mover that doesn't go anywhere. You do get to see a few other rides, and has been our go to ride on the few occasions we have been there at midnight (or brought our infant son). This was Colby's 3rd and final ride of the day, including the Nemo ride at Epcot not pictured here. Many pictures were taken on that ride - here are the best of them.

Then we met at the Crystal Palace for dinner, and were joined by Moira's friend Lynn and her family. This is right in the heart of the Magic Kingdom, has a nice buffet (I really liked that banana bread pudding), and a bunch of Pooh characters come and visit. I'd like to file a couple complaints. First, Tigger is day-glo orange and after reading Colby 20 Pooh books I know that's a mistake. Second, Piglet is a prima-donna who thinks she is too good for this gig. Third, Eeyore is slow and not photogenic.

Colby kicked Tigger - awesome.

Whatever piglet - get lost.

Colby taught Pooh a lesson here. I'm sure this wasn't Pooh's first rodeo, but he never met Colby before. Here Colby has his sights set on his prey....

....Colby moves in for the kill....

....and yes, Colby tries to eat Pooh!

Mom does Super Baby with Colby. Earlier Colby was in the parade with the characters and did some Super Baby, but the pictures need Zapruder-like interpretation to understand.

Eeyore finally showed up and this is the shot we got?!?

Back at the hotel Colby in his sun shade float had many admirers. His favorite move is to suck on the octopus, so we think he will like calamari some day.

That's it. Thanks again to Grandpa and Grandma Ravenelle for hooking Colby up with a room that was Colby compatible and inviting us along.
