On the day Colby was born I sent several emails from the hospital on my Blackberry. Almost 3 weeks later, reviewing those emails improved my fuzzy memory of the day. Here are some excerpts that highlight the day's timelines:

Well, looks like Moira is in labor. Everyone is healthy and ok, but its 3 weeks early and not expected. We're I good hands at Exeter hospital.

So... I'm not skiing tomorrow Jon if you were still considering that. Also, looks lik Sunday lunch is off. We'll still need to do it - but we'll need a sitter for 2!

We're awake. Moira's uncomfortable, but nurses are checking in and feel like things are ok. She just sat down in whirlpool and that seems to help.

Epidural
90% and 2 cm

9:10 AM
Epidural in and working - MUCH better now. It was painful before and difficult to see her like that, but she's resting now and will probably sleep for a while. Nurses are monitoring Moira and the baby's heartbeats and other vitals from the nursing station.

37 weeks - a little early but all is well with Mom and son. So far has spent quiet time with Mom, Dad and an army of nurses. So no visitors yet - looks forward to a lifetime of visits starting soon!
